Rules For Transporting Dogs Depend On The Type Of Transport.

A dog of a potentially dangerous breed can only be carried by an adult. And when traveling in a taxi passenger takes responsibility in the event of damage to the property of the carrier.

Is it possible to travel with a dog in public transport (bus, trolley bus, minibus)? What rules need to be followed? Do I have to pay extra for the dog?

Transportation rules are different and depend on the type of transport.

In accordance with the Rules for the carriage of passengers by urban electric transport, a passenger has the right to:

  • To transport a specially trained guide dog accompanying a visually impaired person in a muzzle and on a short leash free of charge;
  • Carry with you in charge of carry-on luggage for free or for a fee (depending on the total number and dimension of places) tamed animals and birds in cages, boxes, bags or bags with a waterproof absorbent bottom, subject to compliance with safety measures and sanitary standards.

In accordance with the Rules for the Motor Transport of Passengers, a passenger has the right to:

  • Transport a specially trained guide dog accompanying a visually impaired person free of charge in the inter-republican message;
  • Carry with you, on account of baggage and (or) carry-on baggage allowance for transportation, free or paid (depending on the total number and dimension of places) small pets (dogs, cats and others) and birds in cages, boxes, bags or bags with waterproof adsorbing bottom, subject to the passenger’s responsibility for compliance with safety measures and sanitary standards;
  • To carry in an irregular message with the consent of the road carrier when the conditions for ensuring the safety of passengers and crew of a large breed dog are met (height at withers is more than 50 cm). At the same time, the passenger must be at least 16 years old, and if the dog is of a potentially dangerous breed, then the passenger must be an adult;
  • In the case of carriage of a dog or cat, the owner must ensure that the animal has a token and registration certificate with a veterinarian’s notice of rabies vaccination and, in established cases, a veterinary certificate or veterinary certificate;
  • Comply with sanitary standards in the carriage of domestic animals (dogs, cats and others) and birds.
