Then, I used it today to cut through a thicker piece of wood covered in vinyl flooring. The wood and vinyl combined were the exact max depth of the blade, so I expected it would have to work hard to get through it. On and off it would smoke from heat so I’d let it cool off and startup again. Then, the motor just died. Total use before it killed the motor was about 5 minutes. Clearly the blade was too large for my dremmel to handle. Like using the engine of a small sedan inside a tractor trailer. My dremmel is a corded variable speed 75th aniversary edition dremel, not sure which model number.

I went with the dremel brand to ensure safety and compatibility with the dremel tool. According to the full compatibility chart, there should have been no problem. I attached it easily, but after less than a minute of the warm up /breaking in period before first use as per the manual, it completely burned out the motor on my dremel that had worked perfectly for years! This had great reviews, but upon further investigation, it looks like I’m not the only one this has happened to. Now, not only am I out the money spent on the mini saw, but I’m out a dremel as well!

I was making bird houses for my granddaughters and decided that this would be the perfect project for trying out my new tool. I can also see myself making doll houses or using it for things like cutting wood flooring. The Dremel 670 is perfect for smaller projects with thinner stock. The Dremel 670 cuts straight and smooth with no issues. It attached and worked as promised on my Dremel rotary tool. The neck of the attachment is slightly angled, which I found help me line up the cut and control the rotary tool. Really an innovative tool.

The saw, quickly attached to my Dremel 300 and quickly cut through the 1/4″ popular plank for a tatting shuttle. The guide made it easy to stay on the line for an accurate cut. The plastic shroud kept the saw, flush with the wood. Making, a perfect perpendicular cut. The plastic shroud is a great safety feature. I was able to FOCUS on my project, than worry about unprotected blade cutting me.

But it’s nice being able to cut small pieces out without having to bring out my bigger saw and I feel like that’s overkill. Small, compact, and powerful. Great product to add to any maker’s arsenal

Scoring and snapping the lexan wasn’t working out as easily as I had hoped, I didn’t wanna spend a couple hundred on another small cut off tool, and I already had the 8220 cordless. I used a straight edge along with the little aim on the blade guard and it tore right through the lexan with no bogging. Nice straight cut. And just cleaned the edges up a bit with a razor blade.

Rated 1 out of 5 by movieguymz from Broke my dremel I used this a couple times on small projects for thin wood and it worked fine. Then, I used it today to cut through a thicker piece of wood covered in vinyl flooring. The wood and vinyl combined were the exact max depth of the blade, so I expected it would have to work hard to get through it. On and off it would smoke from heat so I’d let it cool off and startup again. Then, the motor just died. Total use before it killed the motor was about 5 minutes. Clearly the blade was too large for my dremmel to handle. Like using the engine of a small sedan inside a tractor trailer. My dremmel is a corded variable speed 75th aniversary edition dremel, not sure which model number.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Jessica M from Burned out motor on dremel during 2 min warm up I bought this to use with my dremel 400 xpr. I went with the dremel brand to ensure safety and compatibility with the dremel tool. According to the full compatibility chart, there should have been no problem. I attached it easily, but after less than a minute of the warm up /breaking in period before first use as per the manual, it completely burned out the motor on my dremel that had worked perfectly for years! This had great reviews, but upon further investigation, it looks like I’m not the only one this has happened to. Now, not only am I out the money spent on the mini saw, but I’m out a dremel as well!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Dremel 670 mini saw attachment is a wonderful addition to my Dremel tools and accessories. I was making bird houses for my granddaughters and decided that this would be the perfect project for trying out my new tool. I can also see myself making doll houses or using it for things like cutting wood flooring. The Dremel 670 is perfect for smaller projects with thinner stock. The Dremel 670 cuts straight and smooth with no issues. It attached and worked as promised on my Dremel rotary tool. The neck of the attachment is slightly angled, which I found help me line up the cut and control the rotary tool. Really an innovative tool.

The saw, quickly attached to my Dremel 300 and quickly cut through the 1/4″ popular plank for a tatting shuttle. The guide made it easy to stay on the line for an accurate cut. The plastic shroud kept the saw, flush with the wood. Making, a perfect perpendicular cut. The plastic shroud is a great safety feature. I was able to FOCUS on my project, than worry about unprotected blade cutting me.

I like how this has the guard facing the user. Keep in mind that the saw cutting capabilities is shallow, so keep that in mind for builds this would be able to cut thin PVC walls, but not something like a full board of wood. But it’s nice being able to cut small pieces out without having to bring out my bigger saw and I feel like that’s overkill. Small, compact, and powerful. Great product to add to any maker’s arsenal

No where did it say what was included so I spent way too much time trying to find the screw and adapter only to find them in another package with more instructions. Using the arrow on the edge of the gaurd was pretty accurate.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MarkB81 from Great for small jobs [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I actually bought this to cut 3/32 lexan sheeting for a little fabrication job i did. Scoring and snapping the lexan wasn’t working out as easily as I had hoped, I didn’t wanna spend a couple hundred on another small cut off tool, and I already had the 8220 cordless. I used a straight edge along with the little aim on the blade guard and it tore right through the lexan with no bogging. Nice straight cut. And just cleaned the edges up a bit with a razor blade.
