Greenworks robotic lawn mower. Bosch Robotic Lawnmower vs. Greenworks 80V Mower: Which One Wins

Bosch Robotic Lawnmower vs. Greenworks 80V Mower: Which One Wins?

Before we compare the Bosch robotic lawnmower vs. the Greenworks 80V mower, let’s look at them individually. Bosch robotic lawnmowers are reliable and tidy, making it possible to have a lovely lawn that you can be proud of. Cutting-edge grass combs produce elegant edges, so Bosch lawnmowers provide previously inconceivable cutting power.

Take, for instance, the Bosch Indego M Plus 700 Robotic Lawn Mower that stands out from the competition. It’s an uncommon model that cuts your grass in parallel rows. It has intriguing features, like support for voice assistants and the ability to remember up to three distinct grass sections.

The Greenworks 80V Mower, on the other hand, is a high-performance battery-powered mower that does the job quite well. It has impressive features and excellent build quality that puts it on par with top battery-powered mowers.

This article will show the main differences between the Bosch robotic lawnmower and the Greenworks 80V mower.

Bosch Robotic Lawnmower vs Greenworks 80V Mower: Side-by-Side Comparison

Bosch Robotic Lawnmower vs. Greenworks 80V Mower: What’s the Difference?

One of the main differences between the Bosch robotic mower and the Greenworks 80V mower is how they are powered. The Bosch mower is powered by an 18V battery, while an 80V battery powers Greenworks 80V.

Performance

The Bosch robotic lawnmower handles slight inclines pretty well. It effortlessly navigates them as well as uneven terrain. Although the initial mowing pattern suggests otherwise, it’s also excellent for mowing the entire lawn. The result is that the yard shows apparent patterns as if you had used a standard lawn mower to cut it. Some people prefer this look, while others don’t.

The Bosch performs best on packed grass with dry dirt. It easily gets stuck on soft lawns and damp grass. It eliminates the need for hand cutting and trimming, as long as the grass isn’t the size of fully grown corn stalks.

Since the Bosch mower cuts new grass with every movement, it is more efficient, and you won’t need to mow your lawn as frequently as other robots. The robot is a little more time-efficient than the ones that follow random patterns, as long as the topography on your lawn is simple enough to navigate and it doesn’t get stuck everywhere.

The Greenworks 80V, on the other hand, is one of the easiest and most user-friendly cordless lawnmowers on the market. The cutting power and overall power output are both exceptional. The mower has a single lever height adjustment with 7 positions for precise grass-cutting.

The Greenworks 80V gets its power from a powerful 80V battery and has a 21-inch cutting deck with a large mulch or side discharge chute. On a single charge, it can cut up to 12,000 square feet.

Features

The Bosch robotic lawnmower features a clear sizable display with down, up, right, left, and decline buttons beside it. The menu is straightforward to understand. The programming is no more difficult than altering the settings on a cell phone because all options are available in a user-friendly way.

The lithium-ion batteries on Bosch robotic lawnmowers charge in around 60 minutes and last 75 minutes. This lawnmower has a convenient docking station with fast charging. It automatically returns to the dock whenever it needs to charge, but you can program it to have charging breaks.

Another fascinating feature of the Bosch mower is the Logicut mowing algorithm technology that enables the mower to assess the shape and size of your lawn and then record the mowing progress on the lawn map. It then effectively cuts your property in parallel lines, avoiding repetitive mowing, thus saving energy and using up to 70% less time mowing.

  • Tool only (does not come with a battery)
  • Cordless
  • Brushless
  • Self-Propelled
  • 21-inch deck

The Greenworks 80V mower has 7-inch front tires and 11-inch rear tires for optimal grip on all surfaces, including slopes. The 21-inch steel mower deck on the Greenworks 80V has a dual-blade system. Compared to a single-blade mower, the dual blades can cut thick grass up to 50% faster.

The consistent run time of the Greenworks 80V mower is one of its key distinguishing qualities. You’ll typically get between 30 and 60 minutes out of one battery. But before you run out of power, the Rapid charge mechanism will have the second battery charged up and ready to go. This implies that you have a run time that is nearly continuous.

The Greenworks 80V mower has two operating modes: low-power and high-power. When you need extra power, it intelligently detects this and switches to low-power mode to extend its active time. You can select the best setting for your grass from its four-blade settings. This lawnmower has everything, whether you want to mulch or rear discharge.

Bosch Robotic Lawnmower vs. Greenworks 80V Mower: Which One Is Better?

If you’re looking for a mower that runs efficiently for a long time, then you should use the Greenworks 80V mower. It uses a push-button ignition, making it a more accommodating mower for those who are pressed for time or have shoulder and back problems.

If you have a busy schedule and find it hard to allot some time to tidy up your lawn, the Bosch robotic lawnmower will serve you right. The design is for people who are often too busy, as it does all the work. With the app control system, you can have it mow your lawn before you get home.

Ultimately, the final decision depends on your preferences, taste, and convenience. Given a chance to choose, we would go for the Greenworks 80V because of its unique features, long battery life, and durability. But it’s up to you to decide.

Bosch Robotic Lawnmower vs. Greenworks 80V Mower: Which One Wins? FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions)

How long can the battery of the Greenworks 80V mower last?

The runtime of the battery depends on various factors, such as ambient temperature, terrain, and the type of grass on the lawn. But you should expect around 45–60 minutes of uninterrupted mowing.

What makes the Greenworks 80V mower stand out from the competition?

The Greenworks mower 80V stands out because it has a strong brushless motor, a long runtime, and a Smart-adjust system, which adapts automatically to the length and density of the grass. It can cover ground quickly and is quite agile.

The brushless motor and extended runtime also set it apart from standard mowers. The mower is easy to use and operates quietly.

Can the Bosch Robotic Lawnmower operate at night?

Yes, the robotic lawnmower can run while you’re sleeping or at work. Your mower is almost entirely self-sufficient after you set up everything. Simply choose the desired mowing schedule on the onboard control panel, and the system will take care of the rest. You can also access your robotic mower’s settings and configure your mowing schedule and weather conditions with no effort.

Does the Bosch Robotic lawnmower complete all the work on your lawn?

Even though you’ll undoubtedly spend a lot less time tending to your lawn, a robot won’t be able to do everything you need to be done. You’ll probably need to go outside sometimes with a trimmer to tidy up the edges, particularly near fences and walls.

Is the Bosch Robotic lawnmower effective in producing good clippings?

greenworks, robotic, lawn, mower

The robotic mower’s tiny, lightweight razor blades are sharper and rotate faster, producing finer powdered clippings than those produced by most conventional mulching mowers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Boo Hoo from Tears of Joy This was super easy to install, just needed to do a little tweaking to get the mow distance just right, and it does an outstanding job cutting the grass. My lawn is the same height all the time even when it rains for a week without the sweat and suffering from allergies. Bonus no grass clippings to bag or grass coming inside stuck to your shoes/pets, and you can enjoy the outdoors even when it is mowing because it is so quiet you can still hear the birds singing. I am so glad I took a chance on this as my lawn would have been a jungle by now thanks to a broken ankle. Have had almost a month so can’t speak for durability.

Rated 5 out of 5 by shl0791 from awesome mower! I can’t believe it works so well! this is great, finished mowing my.3 acres complex yard in about 2 days (I didn’t mow it for over a week before receiving this unit lol), and now my yard is always level, as I watch my two neighbor’s yards grow day after day. the setup was easy, and after tweaking the geofencing a little, this mower can now more on its own, or on my schedule. I mainly run out at night, because it’s so quiet!

Rated 1 out of 5 by Seriously nickname is req from Not usable I can’t even use it because every time I try to set it up the app responds with Failed to connect to server. I don’t know what to do!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Doug57 from Quiet and works Great! I bought the Optimow a few weeks ago and am enjoying the results, lawn looks better than ever, I used the scheduling wizard to set the mowing schedule, we named our mower Henry! No problems with setup, mowing, charging, or a slope in the whole back yard…the directions and website videos were so helpful and informative. I have never been so happy and excited to watch my lawn being mowed!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous from The Future of Lawn Mowing I bought this for my old house that is now an Airbnb. While this technology is amazing, I expect it to get even better. If it does a decent job on my tough Vermont lawn, imagine what it could do in a more tamed environment!

Rated 1 out of 5 by eu_si_numai_eu from Not for Canada I bought this mower because was advertising cell and GPS connection for antitheft. Unfortunately the mower never connected to the server so I could not use the app. I requested a replacement but the answer was that the company doesn’t have a working unit. The mower worked without cell connection but limited in how much you can customize it because has no controls on the unit itself, everything is done through the app on the phone. A big plus is the 24Vdc battery and fast charger which allows the mower to cut grass for 2 hours and recharge for 1 our.

The best robot lawn mowers: Husqvarna, Greenworks, and more compared

Work smarter, not harder on your lawn this summer. The best robot mowers feature automatic scheduling and cut your grass for you.

Fairly new to lawn care technology, Robot mowers are a helpful tool that help to manicure your lawn more efficiently. They operate in much the same way as a robot vacuum or mop does: utilizing sensors and guidewires to avoid obstacles and stay within boundaries, and also allow for scheduling and monitoring via Bluetooth companion apps.

A highlight feature of robot lawns is their small cutting decks, often just eight or nine inches wide, which makes them ideal for suburban lawns in particular. The included reels of guidewire also are often just big enough to mark off the edge of a quarter acre to half acre lot or the same size area of much larger lawns. Another appeal of a robot lawn mower is that they’re autonomous. Once you set up a schedule, you don’t have to worry about being home to mow your lawn, rather, the unit will leave the base station and start cutting the grass all on its own at the designated start time.

Additionally, robot mowers are battery-powered, meaning they don’t emit any gas, making them a more environmentally friendly solution to lawn care. Plus, the lack of a gas engine means there’s very little maintenance other than changing out batteries and cleaning out dried grass and dirt.

To help you find the right fit for your lawn and your summer schedule, I rounded up the best robot mowers available, keeping in mind their key features, maximum cutting areas, and user-friendliness so you can find which model is best suited to your needs.

Worx Landroid L

Best robot mower overall

Worx Landroid L features: Cutting width: 8 inches | Max cutting area:.5 acres | Connectivity: Bluetooth | Companion app: Yes | Anti-theft alarm: Yes

The Worx Landroid L is my top choice for the best robot lawn mower. With the 8-inch cutting deck, it can mow lawns up to a half acre, which is perfect for most suburban lots. The cutting disc sits on a floating pivot to automatically rise and drop to follow your lawn’s terrain, reducing the chance of scalping or missing low spots. Built-in sensors help the Landroid L navigate around obstacles and through narrow paths, so you don’t have to worry about it getting caught in your flower beds or stuck between your toolshed and the house.

A companion app for your smartphone or tablet allows you to check on battery life, set a mowing schedule, and even specify your lawn’s soil makeup and type of grass for more efficient mowing and overall care. A built-in alarm helps deter thieves, but if someone does manage to make off with your robot mower, the GPS-enabled companion app lets you track their whereabouts so you can recover your property.

MowRo RM24A

Best lower-priced robot mower

MowRo RM24A features: Cutting width: 9.5 inches | Max cutting area:.25 acres | Connectivity: N/A | Companion app: No | Anti-theft alarm: No

Since robot mowers are such a new technology, they can be quite expensive. Fortunately, the Mowro RM24A is one of the more affordable options on the market, with a price tag that sits comfortably under 1,000. The 9.5-inch cutting deck and 28V battery allow the RM24A to mow yards up to a quarter acre, while the large rear, wheels help it tackle steeper hills and inclines. The brushless motor runs much more quietly than gas mowers and many other battery-powered mowers, which means you can enjoy your deck, patio, or backyard while the RM24A is mowing your lawn.

And it won’t annoy the neighbors as it follows its 48-hour mowing schedule; this robot mower automatically mows every two days to keep a consistent cut across your entire lawn. It even has rain sensors to let the mower know it’s time to return to the docking station when storms roll in.

Husqvarna 115H

Best quick-charging robot mower

Husqvarna 115H features: Cutting width: 8.5 inches | Max cutting area:.25 acres | Connectivity: Bluetooth | Companion app: Yes | Anti-theft alarm: Yes

Since robot mowers run on either interchangeable or integrated batteries, they’ll need routine charging for optimal runtimes. Unfortunately, that also means you could get stuck waiting for your mower to charge before it can finish cutting the grass. The Husqvarna 115H has one of the fastest charging times, reaching full battery in just about an hour. You can tackle other outdoor chores like edge trimming and pulling weeds while you wait, and you won’t have to schedule mowing over several days to allow for charging times.

The 8.5-inch cutting deck lets the 115H mow up to a quarter acre; and with its lift and tilt sensors, the blades automatically stop if the mower gets picked up. This protects pets, kids, and adults from getting hurt if the mower gets stuck on an object or if it gets flipped over. The integrated anti-theft alarm only can be shut off with a specified PIN number, meaning thieves can’t disable the alarm before making off with your robot mower.

Husqvarna 430X

Best robot mower for large yards

  • GPS theft tracking
  • Mows up to.8 acres
  • Spiral cut and spot-mow modes
  • Alexa and Hey Google compatibility

Husqvarna 430X features: Cutting width: 9.5 inches | Max cutting area:.8 acres | Connectivity: Bluetooth | Companion app: Yes | Anti-theft alarm: Yes

Robot mowers are usually meant for much smaller lawns, but the Husqvarna 430X is capable of handling lots up to almost a full acre. The 9.5-inch cutting deck features three blades that mulch clippings into ultra-fine pieces to re-feed your lawn between fertilizer applications. The large rear wheels enable the mower to handle steep inclines. With Bluetooth connectivity and GPS navigation, the 430X lets you schedule mow times, set up remote start points, and even set up profiles for different sections of your yard. This lets you create a custom schedule for a consistent cut across your whole lawn, while remote start points mean that your robot mower isn’t limited to where the base station is when you want it to tackle a particular section.

You can even choose between spot mowing and spiral mowing. The spot-mow mode lets you quickly tackle small areas the 430X may have missed or may be growing faster than other sections of your lawn, while the spiral-mow mode provides a consistent cutting pattern. Like its cousin, the Husqvarna 115H, it has a built-in alarm to alert you to would-be thieves and only can be disabled with a personalized PIN. It also offers GPS tracking in case someone does manage to make off with your new mower. Husqvarna also offers interchangeable top covers to either make it easier to see where your 430X is in your yard or to match the rest of your lawn and garden equipment. And if you want truly hands-off lawn care, you can connect the 430X to your Alexa or Hey Google Smart speaker for voice-activated controls.
