How to correctly run in lawn mowers and chainsaws.

The fuel mix ratio is 1:50 (2%) or 20 ml/cm3 oil per 1 liter of gasoline. For example, pour half a measure of gasoline into a clear plastic bottle (1 liter), then use a medical syringe (20 ml/cm3) to inject the two-stroke oil and mix, add gasoline and mix thoroughly. If the quality of gasoline is doubtful or working conditions are difficult, you can increase the amount of oil to 22-25 ml/cm3. Shake the mixture before each filling! Store the fuel for no more than two weeks! If the color of the mixture has changed (from a sea wave color to brown, for example), it is not recommended to use it!

Start the lawnmower’s running-in period

After starting, do not rush to run the grass trimmer immediately. Let the engine idle for about 5 minutes to warm up. Adjust air flow with air regulator while the fuel is warming up so that the bobbin with fishing line or blade does not rotate. As soon as the tool is warmed up, let’s open the air supply by moving the lever to “ON” position and squeeze the throttle trigger 1/2 way for about 2030 seconds. Then release the throttle and let the trimmer run at idle for 30 to 40 seconds. Keep mowing for 10 15 minutes in such regime. Then we stop the engine and we give 15 20 minutes rest.

Having cooled the lawnmower, we continue to make a run-in of the engine according to the previous scheme. Start the grass trimmer when it is hot and with the choke open. Try not to hold the gas for too long, because the moving parts of the tool will only rub against each other. And do not allow the engine to idle for a long time because it can overheat.

Thinner may tear, thicker causes overheating of the engine and unnecessary vibration. You need to disassemble the drum and wind the line for the trimmer by hand, then reassemble the drum.

4) If the bar breaks, it can also be repaired by taping and gluing to wooden laths or iron brackets.

5) If the engine is starting to vibrate strongly and is running rough, you might need to lubricate your brushcutter. Any trimmer for grass is easy to disassemble, it is recommended to lubricate it with technical oil at least once a year.

7) If the grass trimmer is equipped with plastic knives, and they are deformed for some reason, there is a way to replace them with metal ones. To do this, you need to make several blades of stainless steel. It’s a bit difficult at home, but the situation can save a turner you know, working at an industrial plant or factory.
