We did not set ourselves the task of accurately comparing the time and repeatability, we only cared about the end result. That’s why we made only one duplicate for each model.
The white “tough guy” is not everyone’s cup of tea. As in the previous case, DeFort started very fast, but could not conquer the last centimeter.
The Bosch, though it solved the problem, but the smell of burned windings made it clear that such loads are categorically contraindicated to this tool.
But for the powerful Hitachi, both self-drilling screws are like toys. Here’s what the stopwatch showed: 13.3 seconds for DeFort (it did not make 1 cm), 20.7 seconds for Bosch and 4.3 seconds for Hitachi. In addition, let’s note that Hitachi worked during the test at the second speed, where the torque is at least a third lower than the maximum declared in the specifications.
We have one more important note for the practical part: our test has involved screwdrivers of older models (Hitachi is not included), which have no overload protection system. Most modern models have such a system, so they do not let you make fun of the tool like you can see in the video with the Bosch electric screwdriver. This also means that the safety system will not allow to screw in such a screw to the end of the first time. You have to turn the tool on several more times until the next trip (usually 1-2 seconds) until the screw is driven in. But in order not to abuse the tool so much, of course, it is necessary to buy an electric screwdriver with a certain power reserve!
