  • a small piece of rebar;
  • a roller to install the transmission belt;
  • a spring with a length of 10-12 cm;
  • 0-1400 or 0-1420 belt;
  • fixing elements.

In order to make the rear speed lever with their own hands, you need to study the drawings or take as a sample of the original part. The frame with the stand for the roller and the cover for belt protection is made of a strip of steel, according to the required dimensions. In order to properly install the lever in the future, a sleeve is welded to it, made from a piece of pipe, the length of which should be 73 mm. The stop is made of rebar and welded to the sleeve. The pulley is fastened to the part with the bolt of necessary diameter.

Installation of the homemade device is simple. Running in of the Neva MB-1 power tillage

Long and reliable performance of your power tiller is ensured by proper use, timely maintenance and correct use of the machine in the BEGINNING PERIOD.

First 20 hours of power tiller operation is the break-in period of engine and transmission parts. Overloading is NOT acceptable during this period.

The engine running-in period must be strictly followed as described in the Engine Operator’s Manual.

Cultivate the soil during the run-in period with 4 tillers in several passes and to a depth of no more than 10 cm at a time.

Do not overload the single axle tractor when working on heavy and stony soils with tillers.

When using a single-axle tractor with a transport dolly to carry loads, do not overload it. The weight of transported cargo should not exceed 200 kg.

During the running-in period, change the oil in the engine according to the engine manual, and check and retighten the threaded joints.

After running it for 20 hours, check and, if necessary, adjust the tension of the drive belt.

Adjustment of drive belt tension is done by adjusting bolt in the clutch handle body. The belt is tensioned by unscrewing the adjusting bolt. Tighten the adjusting screw, hold it in position and screw the nut 1 to the crank housing (fig 4).8) ( see operating manual)

ATTENTION! Remember that poor or insufficient running-in of the engine and transmission considerably reduces the service life of your power unit.

Maintenance of the Neva MB-1 power tiller

To keep your power tiller in good working condition throughout use and storage you must do the following.


WEEKLY SERVICE (except engine).

Check daily before starting work:

Clean the single axle tractor of dust, dirt and wipe it dry every time after finishing work.

SERVICE AFTER EACH 25 HOURS USE (except engine).

Perform the work required by the pre-service maintenance.

Lubricate throttle cable (throttle control cable of engine carburetor):

Lubricate the clutch cable (see “Lubricate the clutch cable”). see section 9 nr.4).

Lubricate the wheel release cable by applying a few drops of any engine oil to the gap between the cable and the sheath on the handle side (see. Figure.14).


Change oil in the gearbox. This operation is best done right after your power tiller is running, when the oil is easier to drain.

Clean debris off the axle of drive belt tensioning lever and bushing.

Lubricate drive belt lever shaft and hub with engine oil.

Check operability of clutch mechanism, adjust tension of drive belt.

The engine oil level in the engine compartment must not exceed the maximum permissible engine oil level.

When switching to autumn-winter operation (outside temperatures below 4 ° C), replace the summer grades of motor oil for winter.

When changing to spring-summer operation (temperature from 4°С to 35°С) change winter grades of oil for summer ones (see “Summer” on page 56). See “Before starting work” section in the Engine Operator’s Manual).

To reduce the risk of damage to your power tiller as little as possible, it is important to check both the engine and the gearbox. Experts give their advice on what the basic requirements should be during operation.

  • It is important to use only quality oil and to check regularly the oil level inside the element. According to GOST for the gearbox is ideal for the TAD-17I or an analogue, which is also easily available in stores. TAP-15B.
