How to make a tiller blade

The owners of summer cottages and private houses are well aware of what a harsh winter is: when they have to work intensively to remove a large amount of snow. To cope with the elements, most often you have to pick up a shovel and manually rake mountains of snow. But today, for these purposes, you can use the available technical means, which are more effective, moreover, they do not require significant physical efforts.

What is a dump?

A great way to clear snow is to use a blade tiller. Interestingly, it is not necessary to buy the blade itself, you can do it yourself. The photo shows a typical sample that can be used for tillers from different manufacturers: Neva, Kaskad, Salyut and Ugra.

Instructions

Next, we will look at how you can make a device with your own hands. As a tool for further actions, you will need a welding machine, a drill and an angle grinder.

Let’s give an example of one simple option shown in the photo, materializing it with our own hands. We make a dump with a size of 85x22x45 cm. As the main material, you can use a part of a two-hundred-liter barrel, but not a plastic one, but a steel one. It needs to be cut into three pieces. Two of them need to be welded along the contour, resulting in a 3 mm product of sufficient rigidity.

At the bottom of the dump, you need to add a knife. We take a steel plate with a thickness of 5 mm and a length that corresponds to the grip of the blade. 85 cm.To fix the rubber safety strip, you will need to make several holes with a pitch of about 10 cm and a diameter of about 6 mm.

Next, you need to make a mount to ensure a hitch with the tiller. In the center of the dump, you need to weld a 4×4 cm square pipe using a welding machine. You also need to weld a semicircle to the middle of the pipe using metal of considerable thickness. There should be three holes in this semicircle so that the blade can be fixed at a certain angle (two other positions besides the “straight” position).

You need to make an L-like holder from the pipe. At one end, it is attached to the tiller frame, and the other is inserted into the hole of the semicircular element.

The blade securing bracket will be on the feet of the machine. The rods are in contact with the brackets using bolted connections.

The blade is additionally secured to the tiller with two adjusting rods.

DIY How To Sharpen Tiller Tines

about the device

Tiller is a frame with an axle, on which wheels and a transmission with an engine are placed. Due to the technical feasibility, this design can be supplemented with various devices that allow solving different problems. For example, it can be a rake for cleaning the territory, a potato planter or a potato digger, a plow, and so on. The blade is also an additional equipment of the tiller, which serves to speed up and facilitate the process of clearing snow on the territory.

Typically, a snow plow includes 3 main elements:

  • shovel;
  • a mechanism for controlling the angle of rotation of the shovel;
  • mount. to attach the shovel to the tiller

Basically, there are three working positions:

  • forward;
  • to the right. a slope of thirty degrees;
  • to the left. a slope of thirty degrees.

Features of the configuration and design

Blades can be equipped with attachment knives to level the soil. Rubber elements are used for snow removal. At the same time, the device can not always be installed on any tiller, therefore such a possibility must be determined in advance.

As a rule, manufacturers do not install spring mechanisms, since the meeting of the device with irregularities is not fraught with consequences, given the low speed. Lift-and-rotate mechanisms are not required either. As a result, the cost of the device is very affordable.

For snow, you can also use not ordinary wheels, but lugs. This will make it possible to move around the snow-covered area more freely.

Simple design. fast production

Indeed, having simple materials and tools at hand, you can very quickly make for any tiller (for example, Salyut, Ugra, Kaskad or Neva) a high-quality dump that will allow you to quickly and confidently clean the area from the snow that has fallen. How this happens in practice, you can watch the video.

Tools and materials

To create a snow plow yourself, you will need:

  • steel sheet 850x700x3 mm;
  • 4 steel plates 450x230x3-4 mm;
  • iron strip 850x100x3 mm;
  • two eyelets for attaching rods;
  • 1 m of a square pipe with a section of 40×40 mm;
  • bolts М10, М12 and М8, as well as washers and nuts;
  • two rods 520 mm long;
  • a set of drills for metal;
  • pliers;
  • set of wrenches;
  • a sheet of thick durable rubber;
  • small but thick steel sheet;
  • angle grinder with discs for metal;
  • apparatus for electric welding;
  • hand electric drill.

  • vertical plane of the blade;
  • struts for structural rigidity. 4 pcs.;
  • horizontal plane of the blade;
  • knife;
  • eyelets for fastening rods.

Blade installation

To install the grader, you will have to resort to using brackets mounted on the frame of the power unit being used. Additionally, the blade is attached to the tiller with two rods, which, when inoperative, make it possible to unload the motoblock brackets. A knife made of a steel plate 850x100x3 mm is attached to the lower horizontal edge of the grader by means of a bolt connection.

Now, after the blade is ready, you need to install it and you can start clearing snow drifts, removing garbage or leveling the earthen area on your site. A do-it-yourself blade for a tiller is a versatile equipment with which you can perform various works. And self-production will make it possible to get a multifunctional device adapted specifically to your needs.

In order for the motoblock blade to last as long as possible and resist corrosion, it should be treated with a special primer or protective paint.
The rubber strip attached to the working edge of the shovel should protrude beyond the steel plate.

Features of the manufacture of a snow plow

Consider another option for making a shovel, which is not too different from the previous one. For the blade itself, you will need 3 mm steel sheet, and for the struts that provide additional rigidity, you need to take thicker steel. It is necessary to make holes in the racks for attaching the shovel to the rods. It is very important to ensure vertical placement of attachments homemade equipment in relation to the front of the power unit.

  • shovel;
  • barbells;
  • bracket for attaching the rods to the tiller;
  • thrust.

Tiller with blade

How to make a homemade blade (shovel) for a tiller. do it yourself

In Russia, there are such winters that very often the owners of private households are faced with the problem of removing a large amount of snow. Traditionally, this problem has been solved with conventional shovels and various tools. Now, when many farms have at least tillers that can be equipped with various types of attachments, snow removal, debris removal and other work has become much easier.

Homemade dump

Snow plows that can be installed on almost any type of equipment (tractors, ATVs, cars or tillers) make life much easier and the process of removing snow drifts itself. Any snow plow consists directly of a working body, a steering angle adjustment mechanism and a fastener that fixes the shovel to the chassis of the power unit.

DIY snow plow for a tiller

Despite the fact that there are various modifications of factory devices for cleaning the fallen snow masses, however, according to the presented drawings, you can easily and independently make a snow shovel. Thanks to such attachments for the “Neva” tiller, you can clear your site from snow drifts in winter, and use it the rest of the time for garbage collection, leveling earthen pads and much more. Despite various modifications, all plows are characterized by the same general design and principle of operation. The snow shovel has three main positions:

  • forward;
  • to the right with a slope of 30˚;
  • to the left with a slope of 30˚.

A self-made blade made from a gas cylinder or steel barrel must be turned 30˚ to the left or right before snow removal work. Having set the required angle, the tiller’s shovel is fixed in the required position by means of metal cotter pins.

The width of the working grip is usually 1000 mm, subject to the use of 2-3 mm metal for the manufacture of a shovel. True, some models may be more or less than this value. The industry makes snow shovels from high quality steel.

Homemade snow shovel

Dump barrel

To make a snow shovel for the Neva tiller on your own, you first need to collect the necessary tools and materials. So, we need:
  • an old steel barrel with a capacity of 200 liters;
  • a strip of iron with dimensions of approximately 850x100x3 mm;
  • 1 m of a square pipe with a section of 40×40 mm;
  • bolts М10, М12 and М8, as well as washers and nuts;
  • a set of drills for metal;
  • pliers;
  • set of wrenches;
  • a sheet of thick durable rubber;
  • small but thick steel sheet;
  • angle grinder with discs for metal;
  • welding machine;
  • hand electric drill.

After all the tools, materials and drawings have been collected, you can start making a do-it-yourself blade for the tiller. The simplest solution would be to make a bucket from an old 200 liter barrel, since it initially has the optimal roundness. In this case, it is not necessary to heat the metal sheets and bend them, giving them the desired shape. So, you need an old barrel, from which you need to cut off the lid and bottom of the angle grinder. The resulting pipe should be cut lengthwise into three equal segments. These two thirds must be joined together along the contour using a welding machine, and the remaining third must be cut with an angle grinder into strips that will be used to ensure sufficient rigidity. Attach the shovels one strip at a time, and distribute several pieces evenly along the entire length of the blade.

Homemade snow plow design

Now, to further strengthen the entire structure of the blade, you need to make a knife at the bottom of the bucket. This will require an iron strip with dimensions of 850x100x3 mm. Using an electric drill, drill three holes with a diameter of 5-6 mm and a distance between them of 100-120 mm in the knife. This is to reinforce the rubber pad, which will prevent the bucket from damaging the road surface. The knife is attached to the working edge of the bucket using a bolt connection.

After assembling the snow shovel and blade, you need to make and mount the blade mount. Weld a piece of pipe to a homemade motoblock blade in the center of the structure. In the middle of the pipe, by welding, fix a semicircle made of a thick sheet of metal and make several holes in it to set the required angles of rotation and fix the tiller blade.

Next, you need to take another piece of square pipe and make an L-shaped holder out of it. The short side of this holder is installed in a pivoting semicircle, and the other end of the pipe is bolted to the frame of the power unit. To adjust the height of the blade, two bolts are used, screwed into the recess of a square pipe, which is welded to the hitch and is put on the L-shaped holder. The video shows a snow shovel for a tiller and working with it.

As you can see, anyone who knows how to handle tools and an electric welding machine can independently create a snow plow from a barrel or a gas cylinder. There is nothing complicated in this, for this you only need the simplest drawings, of which there are plenty on the Internet, tools and materials available on the farm of almost any craftsman. In addition, this will make it possible to significantly save on the purchase of ready-made attachments. The video shows the installation and operation of the blade on the tiller.

Dump for Tiller Neva

The blade for a snowblower from Tiller Neva is made using exactly the same technology. A bracket mounted on the tiller runners can be used as a blade attachment. The bottom of the folding support located in front is also attached to them.

For fastening, use bolts of the M 10 range. The shovel blade for the Neva motor-cultivator is bolted, measures 0.31085 cm.

Crafting tips

The holder-holder for a homemade blade is L-shaped. One of the ends of this component is attached to one hole in a semicircle, and the other is screwed to the tiller structure with bolts.

The height of the blade can also be changed, for this, bolts are used that need to be screwed to the section of the profiled pipe.

Features of the manufacture of dumps

To make a homemade blade for the Salute tiller, you will need the following tools:

  • Drill with a set of drills.
  • Angle Grinder.
  • Welding machine.

An ordinary steel barrel with a capacity of 200 liters will do as a material for the dump. This barrel must be cut into 3 equal pieces that will act as curved blade segments.

The two parts must be connected by welding to each other, as a result of which a product necessary for the manufacture of a blade with a thickness of 3 mm will be obtained. This thickness is considered optimal to ensure the required rigidity of the equipment.

Bulldozer type snow blower (with blade). drawing

A snow blower with a blade is a tiller with a special adapter to which a nozzle in the form of a homemade blade is attached. The blade is the main working body of this type of snowblower. Skillful needlewomen can make an adapter for a tiller with their own hands.

For the manufacture of a knife plate, a sharp metal sheet is used, with the help of which the snow layer is trimmed and folded back.

Blade parts are made of steel, then welded with a welding machine. A knife is attached to the bottom of the blade by welding. Using rods and brackets, the blade is fixed to the tiller. Traction mechanisms are held in the holes of the blade and are attached to the controls through tubes.

The fan blade snow blower consists of the following mechanisms:

  • Drum and bearing.
  • Impeller.
  • Blades. Are located along the axis of rotation.
  • Blades welded to the drum.
  • Sheet steel bucket.

Using a torque transmission system, the drum axle is connected to the motor shaft.

The snow mass, falling into the box, moves strictly along the guides to the blades, which throw it out.

Types of snow blowers for tilers

In order to correctly make a snow blower yourself, you need to distinguish between their types and the principle of operation of each of them.

Rotary snow blower

Rotary snow blowers are considered the most powerful of the entire range of snow blowers on offer. Machines of this type are capable of throwing snow over a distance of more than 12 meters. Read the article on how to make a rotary snow blower.

A homemade rotary snow blower for a tiller is a metal box with a screw shaft located in it. The rotating shaft is considered the main working mechanism of the snow blower.

As additional accessories in the manufacture of the mechanism, you will need controls and clutches, as well as some spare parts for the drive. Read about spare parts for a snow blower. here.

For more details, see

The principle of operation of such a mechanism consists in capturing and moving snow into the mouth of the machine due to the operation of the screw-rotor device. The possibility of operation of such a device is obtained due to the flexible connection of two shafts using a strong belt.

Another important mechanism in the design is the impeller, which is necessary to eject the snow mass through a special hole brought up to the top.

The shaft is a piece of pipe around which a gear unit. auger. moves in a spiral. In order to maintain a constant torque, and therefore efficient production of work, the shaft is mounted on bearings.

The toothed auger is made of metal in the form of blades that are identical and equidistant from each other. From below, to the bottom of the shovel, a plate with a sharp edge is attached to cut the snow cover.

On our site you will find several articles dedicated to different models of bulldozers. In them you can compare their characteristics and prices. Here is the description of the T170.

T130 is a multifunctional machine that can be used as a tractor, all-terrain vehicle, excavator.

Bulldozer B10m with increased productivity has been produced at the Chelyabinsk plant since 2004.

Features of the manufacture of different dumps

The moldboard for the tiller can be made of steel sheet with a thickness of at least 3 mm, the size of the device upon completion of work will be 852245 cm.

Internal auxiliary posts should be made of a material of relatively large thickness, since they protrude in the form of a kind of stiffening ribs. Holes are also drilled in them to attach the shovel to the tiller rods.

A snow blower is an indispensable machine in winter at any summer cottage (read how to choose). If the list of your irreplaceable iron assistants already includes such a device as a tiller, then try to make a homemade snow thrower for it with your own hands.

A snow blower can also be made from a chainsaw. Find out how. here.

To make a snow blower from a tiller, you will need the following tools:

  • A set of keys.
  • Bolt set with nuts.
  • Drill with a set of drills.
  • angle grinder.
  • Screwdriwer set.
  • Hammer.
  • Pliers.
  • Vise.
  • File.
  • Electric hacksaw.
  • Chain kit.
  • Welder.
  • Metal sheet.
  • Profile pipe.

Features of the

This design helps to carry out various jobs.

Here is a list of them:

  • snow removal;
  • leveling the surfaces of soil, sand;
  • garbage collection;
  • loading operations (if the implement is in the form of a bucket).

You need to know that for handling heavy bulk materials, the blade is made of durable materials. In addition, the power of the tiller must be high enough for such a job. Therefore, a shovel is most often used in conjunction with a heavy diesel tiller.

Features of dumps for tiller “Neva

Tillers are often used to work on small land plots. With their help, you can perform almost any work, just connect certain equipment to the unit. Most often, such devices are used in agriculture in the summer. However, there is one type of attachment that can be used all year round. this is a shovel blade.

Classification

Blades differ in several ways:

  • by form;
  • by the method of fastening;
  • by location on the tiller;
  • by the form of the connection;
  • by the type of lift.

Since a shovel for a tiller is a metal sheet fixed to a frame, its shape can vary within different angles of inclination of the sheet, with a deflection in the middle. This shape is typical for a dump. It can only perform leveling and raking manipulations. There is another form. a bucket. Its functions expand to moving various materials and objects.

This attachment can be installed on the tiller both in the front and in the tail section. Front attachment is the most common and familiar to work.

The blade can be fixed on the tiller. It should be noted that this is not the most functional way, since the work surface is in only one position. The adjustable blade is more modern and convenient. It is equipped with a swivel mechanism that allows you to set the required grip angle before starting work. Such a device, in addition to the direct position, also has a turn to the right and left sides.

The most diverse are shovels by the type of attachment. Distinguish between their types depending on the model of the tiller:

  • Zirka 41;
  • “Neva”;
  • removable Zirka 105;
  • “Bison”;
  • Forte;
  • universal;
  • kit hitch with front lifting mechanism.

It should be noted that most of the companies have abandoned the production of tiller dumps. In the best case, they produce one type of shovel for the entire line of units. A typical example of such production is the company “Neva”. It creates only one type of blade, in which the maximum number of functions is collected, with the exception, perhaps, of the bucket.

This attachment is equipped with two types of attachments: an elastic band for removing debris and snow, and a knife for leveling the ground. I would like to note the practicality of the rubber nozzle. It prevents damage to the metal base of the blade itself and protects any coating (tile, concrete, brick) on which it moves.

This type of shovel for the Neva tiller has a working surface width in a straight position of 90 cm. The dimensions of the structure are 90x42x50 (length / width / height). It is also possible to turn the knife slope. In this case, the width of the working grip will be reduced by 9 cm. The average working speed of such an assembly is also encouraging. 3-4 km / h. The blade is equipped with a swivel mechanism that gives an angle of 25 degrees. The only drawback of the device is the type of lifting mechanism, which is made in the form of mechanics.

A hydraulic lift is considered much more convenient and productive. Its absence can be called the main design flaw. But if the hydraulics break down, repairs can cost a pretty penny, unlike mechanics, all breakdowns of which can be eliminated by welding and installing a new part.

However, many business executives prefer to assemble such structures on their own at home. This allows you to save a lot.

Selection and operation

In order to choose a dump, you need to understand what work they plan to perform. If there is no need to transport materials, and for this the farm already has a separate device, then you can safely purchase a shovel blade, not a bucket.

Then you should pay attention to the type of the lifting mechanism and the equipment. It should include two attachments and attachment parts. You can check with the seller and the required power of the tiller.

The blade must be checked for tightness before use. If the structure is poorly secured, then at the beginning of work, the blade will most likely be pulled out of the fastening. This situation can be hazardous to health.

It is important and correct to start work, pre-warming up the tiller engine. Also, do not immerse the shovel to the required depth right away. It is better to remove dense, heavy materials in several steps, since when creating a lot of effort, you can quickly overheat the tiller.

To learn how to make a do-it-yourself dump for the Neva tiller, see the video below.

Design

The main parts of the design are:

  • A shovel-blade or knife is a working part that interacts with the snow. It can be made of various materials. A metal plate with a thickness of 3 mm or more will do. Remember that the lower part can cling to the road surface and must be additionally reinforced with a strip of metal on the working side and stiffening ribs on the back.
  • Swivel mechanism. It is often much more convenient to use the blade turned 30º so as not to push the entire snow mass in front of you, but to throw it away from the direction of travel. This reduces the load on the tiller and allows the snow to move in the desired direction. The blade pivot and locking mechanism requires a 10 mm thick plate, a strong pivot bolt at the main attachment point, and a finger joint to lock the straight or angled blade position.
  • The unit of docking and attachment to the tiller can be different for each model. To make a do-it-yourself blade for a tiller, you should not pay attention to the versatility of the attachment, it is better to take care of the reliability of fixing the blade on your tiller.

Professional experience

You should not reinvent the wheel again, an approximate scheme for manufacturing equipment for cleaning snow can be borrowed from manufacturers, for example, you can use a drawing of a blade for a tiller of the Vsevolozhsk RMZ. Of course, the structure can be simplified or strengthened, depending on the model of the tiller, the main thing is, do not count on a large width of the blade-blade with a weak or too light unit.

Purchase or manual assembly?

However, having a welding machine, drill, material and free time, you can seriously save on the purchase of this attachment. In addition, a do-it-yourself blade for a tiller can be modified and repaired at any time, and the reliability of such products is often higher.

Tools

Without a special tool, metal processing can be quite difficult. The following tools and devices should be prepared in the workshop of the craftsman:

  • Welding machine. Handicraft craftsmen often use small transformer or inverter devices that allow them to carry out work on a mobile basis. Remember safety when working with welding.
  • Angle grinder, popularly referred to as the angle grinder. Remember to protect flammable materials from sparks that can fly up to fifteen meters during operation.
  • Drill or hammer drill with a set of drills for metal of different diameters. Bolt and finger holes will be required.
  • Clamps and clamps can be useful when working without an assistant.

DIY tiller blade: winter use of a backyard helper

Snowy winter is a disaster in most regions of Russia. If in cities this problem is puzzled by communal and road organizations equipped with special equipment, then in private houses the owners are left alone with the snow. Why not use a helper popular with site owners, usually only used in the summer? tillers in this sense are universal, the main thing is to know how to make a do-it-yourself blade for a tiller.

Materials (edit)

To make a do-it-yourself blade for a tiller, the master has no restrictions on the selection of material, only the recommended parts are indicated in the list below, and possible replacements are also given:

  • A metal plate with a thickness of at least 3 mm for the manufacture of the working part of the blade. The dimensions depend on the planned parameters of the attachment, which, in turn, directly depend on the power of the tiller. An old metal barrel with a capacity of 200 liters can serve as an excellent material, for which it needs to be cut into 3 pieces lengthwise and two of them welded around the perimeter for rigidity. When cutting the barrel lengthwise, take precautions so that the sheet of metal does not suddenly bounce to the side. The third part can be cut for other parts of the blade.
  • Metal stiffening ribs can be made from a wide variety of materials, for example, from the remnants of a 3 mm plate or corners and reinforcement.
  • The metal plate of the swivel mechanism must be at least 8 mm thick, as it is the most vulnerable point.
  • A square tube 40 x 40 mm will be needed to make a clutch assembly, which can be made adjustable using holes and bolts.
  • Wide blades may require additional tube or angle reinforcement.
  • Bolts and nuts with washers for fastening various units and parts. Pins for the adjustable part of the swivel mechanism.

You can make a dump for a tiller from a gas cylinder, but remember about safety measures when working with gas. The cylinder must first be completely filled with water to exclude any possibility of ignition or explosion.

Blade manufacturing

The figure shows a schematic diagram of a snow plow based on the factory drawings at the beginning of the article. The design is simplified and the assembly is suitable for medium and light tillers. Ultra-light machines and motor-cultivators do not have enough power for effective snow removal. The dimensions of the blade depend on the wheelbase of the tiller, its capacity and the size of materials available. When making a blade with a width of more than 1 m, be sure to provide for reinforcement of the structure.

Blade builder tips

When a shovel for a tiller is made, the next step is to attach the holder, which has an L-shape. Insert one end of this element into the hole located in the semicircle. The other end is fixed to the tiller frame with bolts. The bolts should also be used to adjust the blade lift. They are screwed into the holes in the section of the profiled pipe, which is located on the coupling device.

Nuances of work

When the blade for the Salyut tiller is being manufactured, the lower part of the element can be reinforced with a knife. To do this, the master must prepare a metal strip, the thickness of which is 5 millimeters. Its length should be equivalent to that of the blade. At the next stage, 6 mm holes should be made in the knife, placing them 12 cm apart. These manipulations are necessary to fix the safety strip, which is made of rubber. the tiller “Salyut” is supplemented with attachments by means of a technique that assumes a fairly simple design of fasteners. Any master can do such work at home. A square pipe with a side of 40 millimeters must be welded to the dump, which is made of two barrel elements, in the middle of the height. This will strengthen the device. the tiller “Salyut” will be equipped with attachments that will be quite convenient to use. At the next stage, a semicircle made of thick steel must be welded to the pipe, or rather to its central part. Three holes are pre-drilled in it, which are needed to fix the angles of rotation of the manufactured element.

Do-it-yourself blade for a tiller. Homemade blade: blueprints

A do-it-yourself blade for a tiller can be made by any home craftsman who has some experience in working with metal. With this add-on, you can regularly and easily rid the area of snow drifts. This applies not only to private use, since the device will be able to handle a very impressive amount of work. And such manipulations cost quite inexpensively, which cannot be said about factory-made equipment.

The need to use a blade

This solution eliminates the need to use a shovel, which is a rather laborious task. Before proceeding with the manufacture of an addition to an existing tiller, it is necessary to consider the design features of a snow blower, which consists of three parts, namely: a mount, a snow shovel and a steering angle correction device. The attachment point is responsible for fixing the shovel on the tractor frame. Having made a do-it-yourself blade for the tiller, you can do such work on the site as cleaning up garbage and leveling the soil surface. If it is necessary to carry out the last of the named works, it will be possible to transfer the soil from one place to another.

Blade manufacturing features

It is not difficult to make a blade for the Salyut tiller on your own, and you will have to use a welding machine, an angle grinder and a drill. It is not worth looking for a metal of suitable quality for a long time, because for this you can prepare an ordinary steel barrel, the volume of which is 200 liters. The container needs to be cut into three equal parts, which will make it possible to obtain three segments, each of which has a curved shape, which is exactly what is required. It is these blanks that will be used to make shovels. Along the contour, two previously prepared elements must be welded together, which will make it possible to obtain a product whose metal thickness is equal to three millimeters. This indicator will be enough to ensure the required rigidity of the equipment.

Features of making a blade-blade

A drawing of a blade for a tiller will allow you to figure out what design features the manufactured element will have. Thus, the dimensions of the device are 850x220x450 millimeters. The shovel must be made of steel sheet, the thickness of which is 3 millimeters. The racks, which are located inside, must be made of sheet steel of impressive thickness. These additions act as stiffeners. Holes must be drilled in them to fix the blade to the rods. It is important to keep the equipment upright in relation to the front of the tiller.

The dump for the Neva tiller can be manufactured using the same technology. To mount the element, use a bracket that is installed on the legs of the tiller. The base of the folding front support is fixed to the latter. In this case, you need to use M10 bolts. Additionally, the equipment should be secured to the tiller using adjusting rods, the number of which is limited to two. When not in use, they allow the brackets to be relieved. The tiller blade is bolted to the bottom. The knife must have dimensions of 3x100x850 mm.

Final work

The bottom should be sheathed with metal in order to prevent the element from cutting into the ground. The depth of the bottom can be whatever you choose yourself. If the height of the main element is equal to 450 millimeters, and the depth is equivalent to 220 millimeters, then such equipment will more resemble a bucket.

Blade design features

If you decide to make a do-it-yourself blade for a tiller, then first you need to familiarize yourself with the design features of this attachment. The operation to correct the position of the element is completed by setting the required angle and fixing the blade in a certain position. In this case, cotter pins are used. It should be noted that the width of the shovel of the described equipment, as a rule, is equal to the limit of one meter. This indicator can be considered relevant when the bucket is made of metal with a thickness ranging from 2 to 3 millimeters. You should take advantage of the experience of professional manufacturing companies that use high-quality steel in the manufacture of dumps. When a do-it-yourself blade for a tiller is made, it can be additionally equipped with metal attachments in the form of knives, which will be most conveniently used for leveling the ground. Among other things, you can equip the equipment with rubber nozzles, which are indispensable when clearing snow. Shovels should not be equipped with spring damping mechanisms, this is due to the fact that the speed of movement is low enough, therefore, protection is not required from contact with an uneven soil base. the tiller does not need swing-lifting devices at all, which can reduce the cost of a set designed for snow removal.

Homemade tiller blade

Many private home owners are faced with the problem of removing a lot of snow in the winter. It can be difficult to do this manually, so a technique comes to the rescue, which can be equipped with various devices. Any practical owner can make a do-it-yourself blade for a tiller.

Making a shovel for a tiller

The working tool is made of sheet metal with a thickness of 3 mm. For stiffeners, four-millimeter racks are used, which are located inside the structure. To fix the blade to the rods, special holes are made in them. At the same time, it is important to achieve a vertical arrangement of equipment in relation to the front of the mini-tractor.

The dimensions of the tiller blade are 850 220 450 mm. For its fastening, a bracket is adapted, which is mounted using M10 bolts on the legs of the motor unit, where the folding front support is located.

The equipment is reinforced with two adjusting rods. In the inoperative position, they provide unloading to the bracket. A knife is mounted on the lower part of the device using bolts.

To prevent the snow plow from burrowing into the ground, its bottom is additionally sheathed with annealed sheet steel.

The process of making a do-it-yourself blade for a tiller

Any practical owner can design a dump for a tiller “Neva” or “Salyut”. To do this, you need to stock up on an angle grinder, drill, welding machine, tape measure and the necessary materials.

The proposed manufacturing option for the device is simple. They take as a basis a steel barrel with a volume of 200 liters and cut it into three parts. These will be the elements of the bent tiller blade. If you weld two parts together along the contour, you get a product with a thickness of 3 mm. This value is sufficient to provide the required blade rigidity.

You can use a gas cylinder to make the tool, but it is important to remember the precautions. To avoid fire or explosion, the cylinder is completely filled with water.

Tiller snow removal involves the use of a knife with a size of 3100850 mm. For its manufacture, you will need a five-millimeter steel strip along the length of the blade. Holes with a diameter of 6 mm are made in the knife at a distance of 10 cm from each other so that the protective rubber strip can be fixed.

Then the snow plow for the tiller is reinforced with a fastening structure: a square pipe 4040 mm in size, which is welded to the middle part of the barrel segments fastened together. After that, a steel semicircle with three holes is mounted to the middle of the pipe to fix the rotary angles of the shovel.

Next, an L-shaped holder is cooked, the ends of which are bolted to a semicircle and a tiller frame. Fasteners on the hitch profiled square tube segment adjust the lift of the tiller blade.

For SUV

The device can be installed both on a domestically produced car and on an all-wheel drive foreign car. Convenient when the blade is disassembled. In this case, it is easy to dismantle and place it in the luggage compartment of the car. The snow blower is equipped with an electric winch, which provides control of the tool directly from the cabin of the SUV. Depending on the amount and density of precipitation, the shovel is set at a certain angle.

For ATVs

The choice of the design of the device for fastening to the frame depends on the vehicle model.

There are such types of installation equipment:

  • Front-end kit, when the blade engages with the front frame, which is typical for cars with low ground clearance.
  • The center mount kit fits into the ATV frame structure and reinforces it at the same time. This design maintains a high ground clearance and provides stability during snow removal operations.

The width of the shovel depends on the power of the motor, the weight of the equipment and can be from 125 to 150 cm.

Snow Blade Options

Clearing snow and mud is a laborious job, therefore, equipment is widely used to facilitate it: an SUV, an ATV, a tiller. In the attachment market, there are different options for ready-made snow plow designs. To minimize the cost of purchasing the tool, it is easy to make it yourself.

Snow blowers are divided into three groups.

Construction functions

The installation equipment allows you to perform a whole range of utility and household tasks. With its help, it is easy to clear the area from snowdrifts, fallen leaves and debris, level earthen pads, transfer soil from one place to another, clear a room for animals.
