How To Disassemble And Assemble A Trimmer

The main malfunctions of gasoline trimmers

The most common are lawn mower breakdowns associated with the following structural elements:

  • Engine (in particular with a piston system);
  • Carburetor;
  • Barbell;
  • Starter (rope breakage, breakage or spring disengagement);
  • With ignition or fuel supply system;
  • Transmission mechanism (reducer);
  • Filters and silencer.

How To Disassemble And Assemble A Trimmer

The symptoms are as follows:

  • The appearance of uncharacteristic sounds during lawn mowers operation;
  • the lawn mower does not turn on, does not pick up the required speed, or stalls;
  • When the engine is running, the working part does not rotate or slips;
  • Gasoline leaks;
  • Excessive heating of individual units.

Also, minor breakdowns may occur, which are detected without any special diagnostics:

  • Sinking of the start button;
  • Falling limiter;
  • Line breakage or knife breakage (loss of sharpness).

Minor faults are not difficult to fix. Repairing a gasoline trimmer in more complex cases will require preliminary diagnostics to find out the exact reasons. If you have the appropriate knowledge and skills of locksmith work, then the problems can be eliminated independently, replacing the failed parts.

Disassembly and repair of electrical parts

Disassembly of the electric braid in order to repair its electrical part is carried out in the following sequence.

  • Lay the trimmer on a flat surface (such as a table) that does not contain unnecessary items.
  • Unscrew the cover screws located on one side.
  • Remove the unscrewed half of the case, gaining access to the start button, electric motor, brush assembly, bearings, electrical connections (these elements are shown in the photo below).

Disassembled electric trimmer

The brush and bearing units are shown in the photo below.

The scythe will work even without a thermal relay, you just need to constantly independently check the temperature of the electric motor, periodically letting it cool down. You can also install a new similar sensor.

The start button of the electric motor can be checked by closing a jumper of its contacts. If the trimmer works, then the problem is clear. But this option is not safe. Everything should be done carefully so as not to get an electric shock. To change the button, you must use a screwdriver to remove it from the seat and connect the wires from the old to the new. After replacement, you need to assemble the electric brace, and then check its performance.

Replacement of brushes is required if they are destroyed. In this case, pull out the old enough from the grooves, and install the new ones in their place.

Replacing the bearing is a rather difficult operation, because it can stick to and not be removed from the motor shaft. Pull or knock it down carefully so as not to damage the rotor or seat.

Bearing for trimmer ET1003A

When the trimmer motor fails and needs to be replaced with a new one, carefully remove the fan and bearings and then reinstall them. In terms of costs, the replacement is almost comparable to the purchase of a new mechanism. In the absence of experience with electric motors, it is better to entrust its implementation to specialists.

How to disassemble and repair an electric scythe yourself

Before disassembling and repairing the electric braid, check the condition of the outlet and the voltage in the network. If its value deviates from the norms specified in the operating instructions, then you should not even try to operate the device without a stabilizer designed for the corresponding power. Otherwise, the motor may be damaged. Only after determining that the reason for the failure of the trimmer is directly related to it, you can begin to analyze the mechanism for repair purposes.

How to fix a trimmer yourself

Trimmer repairs should be done as soon as possible at the first sign of breakage so that minor faults do not lead to more serious problems. All models are characterized by the presence of such basic units and structural elements: drive system (engine), transmission devices, working part (knife or fishing line), belts and handles. Failure can occur in any part, but some components fail much more often than others.

Lawn mowers running on gasoline or electricity (as well as different models from different manufacturers) differ in design and nature of the problem. Some of them can be easily eliminated with your own hands, while others will require more overhaul or contacting a service center.

Repairing a gasoline engine, carburetor and gearbox

Engine problems can be caused by problems with the piston system, oil seals, rings. To eliminate them, it is necessary to remove the drive motor.

Determining what exactly caused the breakdown is not easy. If there is a guarantee, the mechanism should be taken to a service center for diagnostics and repair. If it is not possible to turn to specialists for help, then it should be borne in mind that replacement of piston rings is most often required. To do this, you need to disassemble the engine, get the piston. This is done in the following sequence:

  • Remove the cover of the plastic case by unscrewing the screws or wringing out the clamps;
  • Disconnect the crankshaft bar;
  • Remove the cylinder head;
  • Take out the piston and rings;
  • If necessary, replace them;
  • Assemble in reverse order.

How the piston is installed and the oil seals are replaced during engine repairs is clearly shown in the rollers below:

Regular use of the lawn mower can break the gearbox. Gears and bearings wear out in it (they can also break). To prevent this from happening often, this unit should be regularly lubricated. The frequency is almost always indicated in the operating instructions for the model used (at least once a season). The below can serve as a repair manual.

To lubricate the gearbox, unscrew the plug and simply squeeze out a suitable lubricant inside the assembly by turning the shaft.

You can only remove and clean the carburetor yourself, and replace the gasket between it and the engine. It is rather problematic to determine the tightness of the assembly at home. The main thing is to correctly assemble the equipment after repair so that the trimmer works without problems.

Disassembly of the gasoline braid, lubrication of its parts and replacement of faulty elements

To disassemble the lawn mower for repair work, you will need, in general, the following devices:

  • A set of screwdrivers (with different tips) and wrenches;
  • Small puller for removing bearings;
  • Special candle wrench;
  • A hammer.

In each case, you will need to disassemble individual nodes.

It should be borne in mind that the starter (launcher) in a number of models is non-separable. in this case, in case of problems with it, only replacement of the element is possible. If the knot is disassembled, then it can be repaired by removing and replacing the rope and spring, or reinstalling the latter (when it comes out of engagement).

Clutch repair

When a knife or fishing line spins almost constantly when the engine is idling, and uncharacteristic sounds emanate from the front of the engine, this indicates a breakdown of the clutch. A broken spring is the cause. At the same time, the technique mows normally.

The trimmer clutch is repaired as follows:

  • Remove the cover from the muffler;
  • Remove the metal stand;
  • Then remove the cylinder and starter caps to gain access to the clutch;
  • Unscrew the side screws to remove the shock absorber cover;
  • Remove the tube from it, having previously let the tightening bolts;
  • Spin the clutch (shown in the photo below);
  • Inspect the condition of the spring, pads and bearings;
  • The new spring is hooked by passing the hooks into the corresponding holes;
  • To replace the pads, you need to remove the spring, and then unscrew the bolts on them.

If necessary, lock the crankshaft using, for example, a rope.

Parsing and replacing the rod

It is quite common to repair the trimmer bar. It is a construction of the following parts:

  • A drive shaft made of steel, with polyhedral or square splines at the upper and lower ends;
  • Aluminum tubes;
  • A plastic sleeve designed to maintain the centralized position of the drive shaft in the tube (so that there are no vibrations);
  • A rubber shock absorber required to connect the rod to the motor;
  • Handlebar with a handle used for steering and a rack, a belt.

On some models, a shock absorber is provided between the steering column and the boom. All control elements (lock lever, ignition switch, gas button) are located on the handle.

How to disassemble the rod and then assemble it to lubricate the shaft or replace it is shown in detail in the below. In the same way, change the broken bar to a new one.

It often happens that the polyhedral or square splines of the drive shaft “lick”, while the working mechanism does not rotate or does it with a slip. Then the shaft is changed.

When a knock appears in the tube, you should disassemble the rod and check the condition of the bushing, and, if necessary, replace it. How to properly assemble the throttle handle on the trim is discussed in below.

If the rod is not intact, suitable for installation, then you can tighten the place of the break with a clamp or impose a kind of tire. This is a temporary measure and should be replaced as soon as possible.

Common malfunctions of electric trimmers

Electric trimmers differ from gasoline devices in a more simplified design. Conventionally, the electrical braid is divided into mechanical and electrical parts. Accordingly, the same groups of problems that occur with this equipment are distinguished.

Most breakdowns cannot be visually detected. To do this, you need to use various devices. You can visually determine the following:

  • The integrity of the power cable is violated (insulation has been torn from it, or it is clearly broken);
  • Sagging or jamming of the trigger button;
  • Mechanical external damage to lawn mowers;
  • Problems with the cutting part;
  • Stopping the spit when clogging with grass;
  • Damaged plug.

To find out which part has broken in other cases, you will need to disassemble the electric brace and consistently check the most likely options. At the same time, attention is paid to the external manifestations of deviations from the normal operation of the device. They help to establish the cause.

Repairing an electric trimmer will require the following devices and tools:

  • Indicator screwdrivers;
  • Multimeter or tester;
  • Soldering iron;
  • A set of keys;
  • Screwdrivers with different attachments.

How it works and works

The nose hair clipper has a very simple design, consisting of the following parts and assemblies:

    Housings with battery compartment or power cord connector, as well as a protective cap;

The nose and ear trimmer consists of a housing that houses the battery compartment, power button and motor

Located inside the motor housing;

The microelectric motor is located in the nose of the trimmer, and attachments with blades are installed on its shaft

A working head with knives, mounted directly on the shaft of an electric motor, it can be stationary, or removable, if the device is multifunctional, and involves the use of attachments of a different shape;

The blades in the working head are positioned so that they cannot injure the nasal cavity or the auricle

Removable comb-shaped attachments for a stationary head, or equipped with knives;

The special comb attachment can be used to trim the eyebrows to the desired length with the help of the special comb attachment installed on the trimmer nose. Each attachment is designed for a specific hair length

  • Microcircuit, which is available in models with rechargeable batteries, charge level indicator, or powered directly from a household electrical network;
  • Power buttons;
  • LED backlight (not available on all models).

    In order not to waste your precious time and money on trips to the hairdresser, but at the same time maintain your short haircut in a well-groomed form without leaving your home, a regular hair clipper will help you.

    In today’s article we will talk about an unusual repair of a remington hc 5350 hair clipper. Namely, how to install a regular power button instead of a standard one. Since I could not find a replacement for the faulty part, I had to improvise. After a bit of searching, I managed to find a suitable lock button. The flashlight button worked well for this.

    Next, let’s start repairing. We will need tools such as a Phillips screwdriver, a soldering iron, and a flathead screwdriver to remove the bezel plug. For a more accurate removal of the cap, you can use a spatula for disassembling smartphones. Carefully, so as not to break, we pry the plug in order to get to the screw.

    The photo below shows the screw that needs to be removed to disassemble the body of the remington hc 5350 hair clipper.

    The following photos show the internal structure of the switch, as well as the fault itself.

    The breakage is a crack in one of the arm parts. This lever cannot be repaired. It is useless to glue it. Since I could not get a new lever, the native power button has many contacts. We will redo the switching circuit. In order to get to the board, we need to unscrew four screws, which are marked in the photo below. The arrow indicates the place where you need to pry off the cover of the battery container.

    In order to get the control board, we unsolder the two marked wiring, which are shown in the next photo.

    Since we do not have a replacement lever, we will be installing a regular power button with a lock. In the photo below, a switch is circled that should be removed.

    After removing the switch, install the jumper as shown in the photo below. And also solder two wires that will go to the button.

    After all the wires and jumpers have been soldered, we assemble the remington hc 5350 hair clipper in the reverse order as we took it apart. In the photo below you can see the final state of the machine after the work done.

    In this article, we examined the repair of the remington hc 5350 hair clipper and made it ourselves. As you can see, this repair can be done by hand, having a suitable tool.

    How to disassemble a nose trimmer. Trimmer: purpose, device and principle of operation

    The nose trimmer is a personal hygiene device. It is a small device for cutting nose and ear hair and for trimming eyebrows. The ease of use of such a machine makes it easy to trim not only eyebrows, but also temples, and cut the contour of the hairstyle on the neck and behind the ears.

    With a nose trimmer, you can trim hair not only in the nasal cavity, but also in the ears, as well as trim eyebrows and hairstyle on the temples and neck

    Outwardly, the trimmer resembles an ordinary hair clipper, which is used in hairdressers or beauty salons. But it has a smaller size and more rounded shape with an elongated narrow nose, in which the blades are located. The spout can be positioned along the axis of the device or at a slope.

    One day the Riwa X9 hair trimmer decided not to show signs of life anymore, it was decided to repair it because This simple device shouldn’t have anything complicated in it.

    First of all, let’s check the battery. everything was wonderful with it, the voltage was normal, the current was also.

    Then you have to disassemble the case. this is where the first problem arose. It was not possible to find the design of the case on the Internet and how to open it. A long process has begun, twisting twisting, I want to confuse)))

    Remove the blades, unscrew the screws Fig. 1

    We remove the plastic black piece and pick out the button Fig. 2

    Remove the metal casing. Now we need to remove the black ring and this is not so easy to do, we need to pry it with something hard in the place as shown in Fig. 3, and pull the ring in the direction in which we removed the metal casing.

    So we almost disassembled the rice. 4-5

    Then we divide into two halves Fig. 6 and now we got to the insides.

    In fig. 7 shows the device board with Q3 already soldered out. In my case, this particular element of the circuit was faulty.

    Having measured the incoming voltage to the motor, it was found out that it is not)))

    In most cases, the power part of the devices fails, in this case, here its function is performed by the transistor assembly Q4, which has the designation DTM9926 analogs FSD9926A, IRF7311PBF. Here I first of all suspected it, but having dropped out of the circuit and phoned, I did not find any problems in its work. Unfortunately, I did not take a photo of how the wiring goes under the transistor assembly.

    Further, based on the datasheet, I began to look at the incoming control signals. The control gates here are leg 2 and 4, the signal should be positive. On leg 2, when the button was pressed, a positive signal was present, on leg 4 there was always a negative signal. And since according to the layout of the board, the drain of the first transistor is connected to the source of the second transistor, the presence of a positive signal on leg 4 must be mandatory.

    We turn to our hero of the occasion Q3, which did not give out the signal we needed at the output, had the CAV1 marking. what kind of animal I am still guessing. For this marking, I did not find anything on the Internet. According to the wiring diagram, my assumptions are that this is a voltage detector (supervisor) at 2.7V, possibly performing the role of monitoring battery discharge or overload, motor short circuit. A long search for such a piece with the right body and pinning was not crowned with success. It was decided to solder 1kOhm resistance between the 4th leg and the positive contact.

    As a result, our trimmer earned, how long it will work and how this alteration will affect, time will tell.

    DIY trimmer bar repair. Lawn mowers design

    The trimmer consists of three parts: a gasoline engine, a bar with a shaft inside and a cutting element. The torque is transmitted through the shaft from the motor to the cutting head. In curved bar trimmers, the cable acts as the shaft. The rod itself is attached to the gasoline engine gearbox. There is an engine control on the bar, and a belt can also be attached for convenient use of the trimmer. The cutting element in lawn mowers uses a line wound on a trimmer head or a special knife used for cutting large weeds.

    The main and most complex trimmer unit is the engine. In domestic and semi-professional lawn mowers, two types of engines are used. 2-stroke or 4-stroke. Depending on the type of gasoline engine, its filling and maintenance are different.

    • 2-stroke engines do not have their own lubrication system, so they do not run on pure gasoline, but on a mixture of gasoline and oil. The latter, getting into the combustion chamber, lubricates the moving engine components.
    • 4-stroke engines are lubricated with oil in the crankcase. They run on pure gasoline without impurities.

    Do-it-yourself lawn mowers repair and trimmer maintenance can be done without outside help. If you need to replace spare parts for the motor or adjust it, then you need to contact a repair shop.

    Search for breakage

    If the trimmer stops starting, then you should not immediately sound the alarm and contact the service center, since the reason for the inoperability can be easily eliminated. Any repair of gasoline trimmers with your own hands begins with checking for the presence of a spark, without which it is impossible to ignite the fuel in the combustion chamber. If there is no spark, then the problem is either the spark plug or the ignition itself. An exception in cases where the spark plug is flooded with a fuel mixture when fuel is overflowed above the set level. In this case, you just need to wipe it dry and the cherished spark will appear.

    The spark plug will also indicate that there is no fuel flow. If it is dry and light brown in color, in this case, repairing the gasoline trimmer with your own hands will consist in debugging the fuel pump or cleaning the carburetor. All these reasons are easily eliminated, the main thing is that the engine itself works properly. But if the reason for the inoperability is still hidden in the engine itself, then it is recommended to contact the service center due to the complexity of the repair. But for people who know how to hold wrenches and a screwdriver in their hands, nothing is impossible. In most cases, repairs to the trimmer engine are successful.

    Need to use

    It will be possible to cope with such work with the help of an ordinary braid, but quite rarely now you can meet a person who has retained the ability to use it. It is even easier to handle the trimmer, which is a descendant of the above tool.

    How to choose

    First you need to decide what types of work you intend to perform. For example, in some cases there is a need to mow only grass, other owners of suburban houses in the area have a huge number of young shrubs, and massive weeds also quite often appear. If at times you struggle with undergrowth, then a more powerful model will come in handy.

    Tools

    To disassemble various types of juicers, you often do not need anything other than a set of screwdrivers of various types and sizes, since all of its components are usually attached to latches, latches, screws (nuts are sometimes used).

    And since we do not know the cause of the malfunction, we will not provide a list of possible tools and consumables that may be needed for repairs here. it may be too long. Just be ready for anything.

    Components of any juicer

    • Cover;
    • Plastic pusher;
    • Capacity for collecting squeezed juice;
    • Steel or plastic strainer;
    • Strainer insert;
    • Waste collection tank (cake);
    • Electric motor unit.

    We disassemble the juicer ourselves

    Most of the malfunctions of this type of kitchen equipment, one way or another, are associated with an electric motor or moving parts, such as gears, couplings. If you didn’t do anything with the juicer, from which it could be guaranteed to fail (dropped, for example), then it is quite possible that you can fix the breakdown yourself. But for this you will first have to carefully examine the device from all sides in order to understand how you can disassemble, and most importantly, how to put the juicer back.

    Disassembly procedure: step by step instructions

    You need to start disassembling the juicer from the top, the elements of which are either simply tightly inserted into each other or are held with the help of clamps. That is, you need to disconnect from the juicer everything that can be removed without the help of tools, and will also interfere with us during further disassembly of the electric motor unit.

    To get to the engine mounts, and then remove it, turn the juicer over and unscrew the bottom screws with a screwdriver (usually there are 4 of them there). Then remove it and unscrew the screws securing the blocks of wires from the back side so that you can completely free the bottom and put it to the side.

    Now remove the drive disk from the motor shaft, keeping the shaft from turning on the back side (if the disk is secured with a screw or nut). Or press it up if it is simply squeezed tightly onto the shaft without additional fasteners.

    Remove the cover of the electric motor block by unscrewing all the existing mounting screws from it, disconnecting any knobs with switches that prevent removal and freeing up the wires.

    Unscrew the screws securing the motor control board and set it aside.

    After that, nothing prevents us from unscrewing the fastening screws of the electric motor itself, of which there are usually 3-4 pieces, and then remove it.

    To access and inspect the rotor, unscrew all screws on the motor housing and disconnect the brushes with wires. Remove the rotor and inspect it for visible damage. Check the condition of the bearings by twisting it several times with your fingers. If everything is in order with the bearings, the rotor should rotate for a long time by inertia, and not stop immediately.

    Inspect and check everything you can for serviceability. Clean the surfaces from dirt and dust with non-aggressive solutions, “ring” with an electric tester all the wires, the motor winding and elements of the control board.

    Solder, clean and replace anything that needs replacement. In general, do everything possible to find and eliminate possible malfunctions so that disassembling the engine block is not in vain.

    Typical malfunctions

    • Wear of plastic gears.
    • Heavy pollution.
    • Blown fuse (if any).
    • Failure of control circuit elements.
    • Corrosion or contact closure.
    • Wear of engine parts.

    If the juicer has been around for many years and the warranty has expired for a long time, then it is possible that it has simply served its duration calculated by its manufacturer (not from scratch). However, if the juicer is “overseas”, then its manufacturer may not even have imagined that someone would disassemble his creation on their own and try to fix it after so many years of service.!

    But if the juicer was not physically damaged immediately before the breakdown, but simply suddenly stopped working, then this may mean that over time it could get very dirty, some contacts oxidized from moisture, maybe the wires somewhere burned out or something shorted. Anything could happen, but the main thing is that nothing serious happened to it, which means you can count on a successful repair. After all, the very fact of a long, trouble-free operation speaks of the reliability of the juicer. If it had not been reliable, it would have broken even during the warranty period.

    The device of fastening the parts of the electric motor unit in juicers from different manufacturers is always different, so the order of their disassembly may be slightly different. You may even need additional tools for this (pliers, wrenches, tweezers, wire cutters, etc.), but the general design principles are the same for everyone.

    Knowing the internal structure of the device, you can easily assemble a juicer with your own hands.
