This marks the end of the jigsaw making process. Because of its mass, it is better to clamp the drill in a vise during work for safety reasons. And the working materials are better placed on flat surfaces.

General assembly instructions

Often craftsmen assemble their jigsaws from an ordinary household drill or from a refrigerator compressor. Thus, the hand jigsaw is converted into an electric tool. Some use a motor from washing machines. An interesting solution is to create a jig saw using an old sewing machine.

Manufacturing from improvised means

The lever system is fastened in the frame. The back of the arms are connected with a turnbuckle. Or, in another way, with a screw coupler. It is desirable that the levers are parallel to one another.

Crank joint is cut out of plywood, up to 1 cm thick. The rotation axis is marked with bearings. The bearings themselves are seated in holes that are drilled into the uprights.

Then the hand wheel and the lower arm are made. They are connected to each other by a connecting rod, which is also made of plywood. Then work table and swivel mechanism are assembled. From thin plywood is cut a rotary arc in which a slot is sawed out. The table is installed on the bed. The construction is tightened with a wing nut. It can be driven by an electric screwdriver.

Conversion from a hand jigsaw

First of all the working table for the mechanism is made. A sheet of metal or thick plywood is suitable for this purpose. Drill and saw holes in the worksheet for the cutting belt and fasteners.

Then the jigsaw table is placed on a regular table. After attaching, the guide rails can be assembled. To reduce vibration, it is enough to cut a rubber pad of the required size and put it between the jigsaw table and the base surface.

First, in the lower part of the machine you need to find the thread weaving knot. To do this, unscrew a few screws. The groove, along which the needle rode, expands slightly to accommodate the saw blade. The files themselves are shortened a little bit to the length of the needle. To fix the saw itself, you can make an adapter. But it is easier to cut the upper part of the cutting blade and sharpen the lower part. After that the file can be inserted in the place of the needle and the work can begin.
